In Memoriam Dr. Anne Bresnock
Our colleague, Anne Bresnock, passed away on October 16, 2020.

She served the Cal Poly Pomona Economics Department from 1990 until her passing. Although retired since 2018, she continued to teach and was scheduled for two of her favorite classes in the Spring: Natural Resource Economics and Industry Studies.

"Anne was a wonderful colleague who will be dearly missed. She cared deeply about our students and dedicated herself to their success. Anne was devoted to the Economics department, the college, and the university. With fondness, we remember and honor her," said CLASS Dean Iris S. Levine.

Alumni Spotlight: Arcadia Appoints CPP Alumnus
to Police Chief
The L.A. Times featured Roy Nakamura (’91, social sciences) in “Arcadia, a WWII incarceration site, names its first police chief of Japanese descent.” In January, Nakamura will become chief in the city that incarcerated about 19,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans at the Santa Anita Park racetrack during World War II. “It’s progress,” said Nakamura. “Obviously, I wasn’t here during those times, and not everything in history has been positive, but we’re also here to learn from our mistakes, and I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t believe in the city of Arcadia.”
