BOOK CLUB: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27th THE GREAT DIVORCE

*Last Book Club of The Summer*

A One Evening Book Discussion led by Pastor Jeff

6:30 – 8:30PM at CLC in room 105.

BEGIN READING NOW! You can the book in paperback on Amazon. You can also read it as a free PDF on the internet. And, yes, you are welcome to attend even if you don’t read the book. I guarantee you’ll learn something valuable about God, yourself, and how to live the Christian life. THE GREAT DIVORCE, written in 1945 by C.S. Lewis, is a fiction novel describing a bus load of people who board the bus in hell which takes them for a visit to heaven where they are free to remain if they wish. Do any of the visitors decide to stay in heaven? Do they like heaven? What is heaven like? What is hell like? What were the people in the bus like? How have they ended up in hell? Was there anything required of those who wanted to stay in heaven? THESE QUESTIONS AND MANY MORE will be answered including how all of it applies directly to how you live your life with God today See you on the 27th!

MEN'S MINISTRY FALL KICK OFF

Join us as we launch our fall study: The Reason for God by Timothy Keller—an engaging, thought-provoking look at life’s big questions and why faith matters. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 7:00–8:30 PM in Room 221 at CLC. Whether you’re new to faith or have walked with God for years, you’ll find real conversation, solid truth, and brotherhood. All men welcome.

MISSION MINUTE: URBANPROMISE

Praise God for His presence in ministering to over 175 Wilmington youth at UrbanPromise's free summer camps that ran for 6 consecutive weeks. A notable highlight: evangelistic hearts and the move of the Holy Spirit saw 30 decisions for Christ this summer. Please pray for UrbanPromise as they seek to follow-up, disciple, and connect these specific campers to local churches and for deep faith roots to take hold.

UrbanPromise kicks off another school year shortly at the High School Academy and elementary school. Please pray for staff, teachers, returning students, and new enrollments to find rhythms, academic growth, and spiritual hunger this school year.

Mark your calendar for UrbanPromise's Annual Banquet on Thursday October 30th at 6pm. Interested in learning more? Connect with Abiy Agiro, agiro2003et@yahoo.com.
