MISSION MINUTE: EL CENTRO

“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Col. 1:17

It has been over a decade since Peter Odulana left CLC after his training and went to Guatemala to start his missionary work. He has also married Nadia and had three children during that time.

El Centro (The Center, referring to Jesus) is a student center for at risk youth in Zone 6 of Guatemala City. The school year there starts next week and 25 youth are registered. The staff of five provide education, counseling and Bible training.

Peter has asked for prayer commitments from us for the coming school year.

UPCOMING MEN AND WOMEN MINISTRY STUDIES

Don’t miss out on what God may be inviting you into next. Through our many Bible study fellowship gatherings, there are so many opportunities to discover where you belong, connect in meaningful community, grow in your faith, and go live it out. If you’ve been longing for deeper relationships or a next step spiritually, one of these groups could be exactly where God meets you. Don’t stay on the sidelines—jump in and be part of what He’s doing.

MARRIAGE CONFERENCE

Come join us for an engaging marriage seminar presented by Justin and Caitlyn Burton of Cultivate Church in Elkton who have a heart for marriage. They're passionate about helping marriages thrive, and value living authentically, without masks. There’s nothing they won’t talk about and no topic they'll avoid, because they believe the things kept in the dark are exactly what God wants to bring into the light. This Marriage Conference invites couples to come, refocus, and rebuild on a Christ-centered foundation. Whether your marriage is thriving or surviving, your find biblical wisdom, encouragement and practical tools to grow strong together!

Adult Ministry: Classes

"HOW TO CHANGE when will power is not enough"

Class Leaders: Pastor Bob Myers

Location: Room 125

This class explores the biblical and gospel foundations of the 12 Step Recovery Programs, applying a Christ-centered, Holy Spirit–empowered approach to overcoming hurts, habits, and obstacles to Christ-like living. Pastor Bob will teach using several resources, including John Ortberg’s book (no reading required). Each week focuses on biblical foundations and practical, life-giving application rooted in surrender to God. This class offers grace, encouragement, and tools to grow in hope, freedom, and healthy habits. Lessons drawn from John Ortberg's book on the 12 steps deepened with explicit scriptural foundations

Knowing Our Limitless GOD More Intimately, Through the I AM Statements of Jesus Christ

Class Leader: Denise Smith

Location: Room 212

Join Denise for a verse-by-verse study in the Gospel of John as we continue exploring the I AM statements of Jesus and other key events. We’ll see how God’s attributes are revealed through Christ, with connections to Old Testament prophecy, and learn how to glorify Him in everyday life. This class continues from last COW season, but first-time attenders are welcome—Denise will start with a helpful “Flashback Review."

Stay

Class Leaders: Lauren DeHart & Dan Mauron

Location: Room 220

If you are struggling to keep up with the frenetic pace of life, or if you’re wanting to journey alongside other families as we discern how to better follow Jesus in 2026, join us on Wednesday nights at “Stay.”

Everything You ever Wanted to Know about God but Were too Afraid to Ask

Class Leader: Pastor Jeff Lampl

Location: Sanctuary

Each week Pastor Jeff will address a different question about God and Christianity. How can God allow evil? Why are churches full of hypocrites? Are Heaven and Hell real and how (not) to get there? What is sin? Is The O.T. God a moral monster? The 2nd Coming of Jesus. Where’s God while the world is going to hell? Is Jesus the only way? A weekly schedule of classes will be published with these and many other topics along with the date they will be addressed. All, believers and skeptics alike, are welcome.
