Walk Alongside a Lincoln University International Student
Each year, students from around the world arrive at Lincoln University and land in our community with no family nearby, no car, and no public transportation to get around. Everything is new — the culture, the climate, the food, and the rhythms of daily life.
As a church family, we have a beautiful opportunity to be a “home away from home.”
We are seeking individuals and families from CLC who are willing to walk alongside an international student in simple, practical, and meaningful ways.
This could look like:
- Giving a ride to the grocery store or medical appointments
- Showing them around the area and visiting local destinations
- Hosting them for dinner
- Providing a ride to the airport
- Hosting them overnight on weekends or during holiday breaks when campus is closed
Sometimes what they need most is not anything complicated, just friendship, hospitality, and someone who cares.
Daniel Sesay, who once stood in their shoes as an international student from Sierra Leone, will provide an orientation before matches are made. Lincoln’s Student Advisor will also be present to answer questions and help thoughtfully connect families with students.
Contact Daniel Sesay at daniel@clcfamily.church or Laurie Sample at Laursample@aol.com if you are interested in learning more or signing up.
