MISSION MINUTE: PASTORAL TRAINING INSTITUTE OF AFRICA

The Pastoral Training Institute of Africa (PTIA) is located in Lilongwe, Malawi. It is a 2-year program that provides theological education and discipleship to African pastors. To date, PTIA has trained more than 50 pastors who have planted 40 gospel-centered churches across Malawi. CLC is currently supporting 2 pastors-in-training. Mishek is now ordained and is currently serving as the chaplain of PTIA as he prepares to plant his church. Chamata is in the program and is a disciplined student.

There are 12 PTIA students in the current cohort, including Chamata. They have successfully completed their theoretical studies and have moved on to their internship practicums. Graduation is set for September 2026. The ministry is carrying a specific burden to plant more churches among the Yao tribe and Muslim communities, so please pray for divine protection and favor over the planters who will be spreading the Gospel in these communities. We are excited that Pastor Bob and Liz will be traveling to Malawi and visiting PTIA in the next few weeks! Prayers for safe travels and a fruitful trip.

Discover CLC Class

Discover CLC is the next step of exploring CLC for people whom are interested in seeing what it looks like to make CLC their church home. This class is the place to discover what CLC believes, what CLC's vision and values are, and what it looks like to be a CLC Covenant Partner, which are the terms we believe best describe what the Bible intends for committing to a local church. You'll enjoy a casual lunch, meet some great people, hear Pastor Bob share his heart, and discover more about the treasure of the CLC Family. This class will be held on Sunday, April 26th at 10:45 pm in room 221. Walk Alongside a Lincoln University International Student

Each year, students from around the world arrive at Lincoln University and land in our community with no family nearby, no car, and no public transportation to get around. Everything is new — the culture, the climate, the food, and the rhythms of daily life.

As a church family, we have a beautiful opportunity to be a “home away from home.”

We are seeking individuals and families from CLC who are willing to walk alongside an international student in simple, practical, and meaningful ways.

This could look like:

  • Giving a ride to the grocery store or medical appointments
  • Showing them around the area and visiting local destinations
  • Hosting them for dinner
  • Providing a ride to the airport
  • Hosting them overnight on weekends or during holiday breaks when campus is closed

Sometimes what they need most is not anything complicated, just friendship, hospitality, and someone who cares.

Daniel Sesay, who once stood in their shoes as an international student from Sierra Leone, will provide an orientation before matches are made. Lincoln’s Student Advisor will also be present to answer questions and help thoughtfully connect families with students.

Contact Daniel Sesay at daniel@clcfamily.church or Laurie Sample at Laursample@aol.com if you are interested in learning more or signing up.
