There is a passage in the Bible that tells us that "the joy of the Lord is our strength" (Nehemiah 8:10). What does this mean? Can I find in God the kind of joy that actually carries me, a delight that infuses my day to day living. The Book of Philippians answers that question.

Mission Minute: Urban Promise

Urban Promise Wilmington successfully completed its Free Summer Camps, led by 34 teenage Street Leaders, 14 interns, many volunteers, and dedicated staff who created a Christ‑centered, vibrant, and safe community for hundreds of inner‑city children. A heartfelt thank‑you to the CLC team who served at the Summer Camp Water Day (the Agiros, the Samples, and Becky Lewis). As the new school year begins, CLC can support in two ways. First, Urban Promise is seeking a high‑school science teacher (no certification required) who brings a heart for education, discipleship, and Christ‑centered community. Second, watch for upcoming registration details about the Annual Banquet at the Chase Center in Wilmington Riverfront, celebrating the ongoing Urban Promise journey in Wilmington’s neighborhoods by inviting friends and family.

Pastor Bob will spend time sharing about who we are, where we’re headed, and what God is doing here at CLC. Then we’ll enjoy a casual lunch together with members of our staff and Elder Session, giving you the opportunity to meet them, hear about their areas of ministry, and get to know others in our church family.

CLC 5K & FUN RUN

All are invited to join us on Sunday, September 13th, 2026 as we celebrate the 300th birthday of our church community. Throughout the day, we'll have many events starting with our Sunday service at 10AM and continuing on into the afternoon with a bunch of fair festivities behind our church building. To cap off the day, we'll be wrapping things up with a 5K, Fun Run/Walk, and a Kid-Run. 

While we're celebrating 300 great years, we're sprinting ahead to greater things, and you're invited to join along!

Southern Chester County Church Bowling League

We are looking for teams and/or individuals who are interested in joining the Southern Chester County Church Bowling League. The league is held at Timber Wolfe Lanes in Oxford on Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:30. The cost is $20 a person for 3 games and shoes each night.  It is a 33-week season with time off for Christmas. The 2026/2027 runs 9/1/26 - 4/21/27.  Every team makes the playoffs and will receive a payout based on where they finish in the standings or make the Final 4.  A team is made up of 5 bowlers per night. Having extra players to fill-in or rotate in is a good idea. However, you can enter with less than that as we may have individuals who are looking for a team to bowl with.  The league is a lot of fun with the opportunity to meet other good Christians within the community. As the league operates with handicaps, you do not have to be a good bowler. You just need to want to have fun!! If you have any questions or for more information, please contact John Maloney at maloney88@verizon.net or 484-610-1816.
