GREAT NEWS!! FUNDS FOR CLCC
|
Thank you so very much to the 150 homeowners, family members, and friends who donated to the Columbine Country Club Fire Fund. Your generosity is deeply appreciated and your donations will help us come back stronger after the Troublesome Fire we have endured.
The Go Fund Me fundraiser was set up in the midst of the fire’s chaos by 4 wonderful volunteer homeowners, Jana Miller, Rob Shamo, Liza Eilers (Board VP), and former Board President Brian Owens with the dual purpose of helping those that sadly lost their entire homes to the fire and to helping re-build our infrastructure and grounds. You have probably seen the devastation to the common area around the North Beach and the horse pasture as well as the burn of our maintenance building, all tools, signage, machines, and our Bobcat.
The homeowners met multiple times to monitor funds, build spreadsheets, respond to donors, communicate with our community and research needs. The fund received $67,131.00 in total, minus Go Fund Me processing fees of $1,512.26, we had a total of $65,618.74 to distribute. We asked donors where they wanted to direct their donations and strictly adhered to their wishes. We will be awarding $678.81 each to 29 homeowners/staff member that lost their homes (total $19,685.62). The remaining amount, $45,933.12 will be used to re-green and plant in the Spring and Fall as well as re-build our maintenance building.
Thank you CLCC donors for your kindness and giving in this time! Thank you to our volunteer homeowners for stepping up to help your neighbors without being asked, you are an example of why we have a great community.

Please help spread the word to keep CLCC safe
|
|
Several times in recent months we have responded to several close calls of improper disposal of hot coals or ashes from fireplaces or fire pits.
Safe disposal is necessary in keeping CLCC safe. Improperly discarded ashes can pose a fire risk and can jeopardize the safety of CLCC. Charcoal, charred firewood, and ashes can remain hot enough to start a fire for many hours, even
days, after you think the fire is out. As a safety precaution, treat all charcoal, charred wood, and ashes as hot.
What CLCC is doing:
- Post better signage
- Moved the ash can away from the compactor
Recommendations for homeowner’s:
- Have a metal bucket at your home for ashes to cool before bringing them to the trash facilities
- Do NOT place your household trash into the ash can
- Allow charcoal and wood to burn out completely and let ashes cool at least 48 hours.
- Never place ash and coal debris in the compactor or recycling area.
Please remind your family, friends, guests and renters of this.

Grand County Fire Recovery Newsletter

|
Grand County is planning on repaving CR49 and CR48 hopefully in June. They don’t have exact dates yet, but will keep us updated as we get closer to summer. Stay tuned.

|
All homeowner's have been emailed their trash code. Please start using your code to make sure there are no issues and to get used to the process. We will be closing up the opening in the near future and want you to feel comfortable with the lock.

CLCC is NOT responsible for removing the berm or plowing homeowner driveways. This is the responsibility of the homeowner. CLCC will plow the main roads first (Columbine & Kinnikinnick) then all other CLCC roads. Please remember it is the responsibility of each homeowner to plan during the winter for expected and unexpected snowfalls when heading out.

On January 28, 2021, the Grand County Wildfire Council Steering Committee Meeting, including a special guest from the Wildfire Research Center discussing the rapid risk assessments, social survey, and outcomes in Columbine Lake after the East Troublesome Fire.
Feedback from homeowners who attended the meeting said these three specific items made the most difference above anything else:
1. County reflective signs present giving address.
2. Mitigation had been done at site.
3. Easy access to the property.

Grand Lake Business Relief Fund
|
A group of volunteers has created a Grand Lake Business Relief Fund..( under The Grand Foundation umbrella.)
They have requested that we share this flyer with you to spread awareness of their program. CLCC HOA is not affiliated with this program or requesting homeowners to donate, unless they want to. We felt this was good information to share with everyone on how folks from Grand County are helping local businesses in Grand Lake.
A team including Andy Marshall and Ernie Bjorkman are available to answer any questions by calling them at 970-887-3111 ext. 3.
