Apply for a CPSA Children’s Scholarship
Before April 2
Since California Public Safety Administrators, Inc. (CPSA), CLEA’s Plan Administrators, started the Children’s Scholarship Program more than 100 children of CLEA members have received scholarships to help them achieve their educational goals. Each year CPSA awards four $500 scholarships to students pursuing their education at colleges, universities, and vocational training programs. Three scholarships are awarded to high school seniors and one scholarship is awarded to a college sophomore or junior continuing their education. CPSA appreciates the opportunity to give back to the members of CLEA and help their children in their educational pursuits.
In 2017, scholarships were awarded to 3 high school seniors. Julia Garver, the daughter of a member of the Torrance Police Officer’s Association, started pursuing her degree in Chemistry at University of California, Santa Cruz this fall. This year two children of San Diego County Deputy Sheriff Association members earned scholarships. Samantha Montalbano began working towards her degree in Business Administration – Accounting at San Diego State University this fall. Julie Vorce started earning her degree in Nursing at Biola University. In conjunction with San Francisco Credit Union, CPSA awarded 2 scholarships to college students in 2017. Kailani Ridenour, the daughter of a member of the Stockton Police Management Association, continues to work on her major in Sociology and minor in Gender and Women’s Studies at University of California, Berkeley. Liliana Ochoa, the daughter of a California ABC Investigator, continues to earn her degree in Criminal Justice at Sacramento State University. CPSA wishes them all the best in their pursuit of higher education and looks forward to learning about this year’s applicants.
If your child will be attending a college, university, or trade school next fall, please encourage them to apply for this year’s scholarships. The information and application packet may be downloaded below. Applications and all supporting documents must be postmarked by April 2, 2018. Scholarship recipients will be notified mid to late May.
CPSA wishes all applicants success in their future academic endeavors.
