Reminders

Change to Wave 2

Before beginning middle-of-year assessments, each teacher/specialist administering measures with students must first update their Wave setting. Please use the drop-down menu, as denoted in the below image, to select Wave 2.

Update Rosters

Middle-of-year is a good time to update your class rosters, if there have been any changes. Our Uploading Student Data webpage offers several options for keeping student records in CLI Engage up-to-date. If your district uses automatic rostering to maintain student records, do not make manual updates to your rosters.

Assessment Resources

Our MOY Assessment Resources take your understanding of assessment and instruction to a higher level. These resources will build reflective thinking and analytical skills to help interpret student data to support high quality instructional planning and implementation.

Kindergarten ECDS Uploads

TX-KEA Data

For the 2023-24 school year, CLI Engage is sending TX-KEA data directly to TEA on behalf of school districts and charter schools. Early Childhood Data System (ECDS) submission files are sent by 10:00 AM each weekday (except on school holidays). Districts need to load data into the ODS. Then promote their assessment data to run business validations and reports to verify the data. Districts may need to make updates and review again, before approving data submitted from CLI Engage.

Bilingual Beginnings: Milestones, Myths, and Practical Tips

January 27, 2024 | 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. | Online via Zoom | Dr. Kelly Vaughn

While many infants and toddlers in the U.S. are raised in English-speaking families, a growing number of American children are exposed to other languages during early childhood. There are numerous benefits to exposure to other languages at home, including social and cultural connections with family members, long-term economic benefits in an increasingly multilingual world, and perhaps even cognitive benefits. Still, early schooling in the U.S. places a large emphasis on learning and using English in academic settings. Caregivers often have questions and concerns about supporting the development of both the native language and English during early childhood. This webinar will debunk some common myths about bilingual development, discuss the similarities and differences in language milestones for bilingual children, and provide practical tips for supporting bilingual development. It will also include information about bilingual development in special populations of children, including children with autism and children who were born preterm.
