2022 Xmas in July issue
Cedar Point anyone?
CLI offers a lot of different job training programs that allow people to learn by doing real work and making real wages ($9.30/hour). One of these is delivering inter-office mail for offices in Norwalk.
Thanks Monica & Kristi
for this week's @work bit!

John's usual--

First-- a correction to my section in last week's newsletter. When talking about everybody that we wanted to join us for the CLI Workshop 40 year reunion-- I managed to delete a section of text so that it read:

"We hope to get lots of old friends to drop in-- clients, staff, family, neighbors, SSAs & other County pets, whoever-- to stop in to say hi & grab some food." What it should have said was "we hope to get lots of old friends to drop in-- clients, staff, family, neighbors, SSAs & other County Board of DD staff, neighbors, pets, whoever-- to stop in to say hi & grab some food." Sorry about the typo. I'll try to edit closer in the future. I waited until the last possible minute to write that & Sunday evening is never my 100%. That being said, we really do hope to have a big turn out on Friday, August 12, anytime between 2pm-6pm. Please help us spread the word!

Second-- thanks to all the CLI staff for the great pictures this week. However, we will take pictures from anyone. If you have something that you'd like to share, please send it in!

Third & final-- this Friday is our 2nd (out of 4) Cornhole Tournaments. It will be at 38 West Seminary this week, right behind Suhr Park. Even if you don't play, come down and visit with us. It's a good time. One extra encouragement to play though-- every team's registration gets them a 9/24 Reverse Raffle ticket, which means that they'll have a 1 in 300 chance of winning $1000.

Have a good week. We hope to see you either Tuesday or Friday evening in Suhr Park!
John

I do not normally put too much personal stuff in my letters. Today is the exception.

My wife, Sandy, and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the wonderful person that made a commitment to me on 7-25-1992.

For those of you that know me, I am sure you agree that my wife is a wonderful person. Some of you even refer to her as a “saint”. That phrase is usually in a sentence that goes something like this…”you have been married for 30 yrs, your wife must be a saint to deal with you for that long”.

Last week was another busy week for us. We had 4 more people working at the workshop. 2 of which are new and 2 are returnees.

We will be having a FL and CLI reunion on Friday 8/12/22 from 2-6. We are inviting all folks that have either worked here or received services to come back and reunite with old friends and familiar faces.

Our next drop off date is 8/3 from 9-2
