Week of July 10th, 2023

It was a hot week last week, so we looked for opportunities to hang out in the A/C. But, we like to keep moving, so--

lucky for us, the Ernsthausen Rec Center hit both checkboxes!

John's usual--

Boy it sure was a short week last week. I had a hard time getting my feet back under me after such a long weekend. Hopefully all of you also enjoyed the long break.

Just a reminder that CLI's 2023 3-tournament series kicks off on Friday, July 21st. It's a good time-- even if you aren't all that great you should still come out as there will be opportunities to win cash prizes no matter what your skill level!

CLI is still looking to fill 2 full-time positions with benefits. If you know someone who you think would be a great fit, please tell them to email me and I'll schedule an interview within a week. Full disclosure, we are very choosy. But we think it's important to meet 100% of everyone who applies. Exact experience in the DD field is not required. We're primarily looking for hard working, independent, creative, ambitious people with strong character. We believe everything else can be learned on the job.

There are 5 whole days in this work week, but we'll get through it! Have a great week. I hope everyone is still washing those hands.

John

For the most part, we agree with the sentiment that sunny summer days should not be spent indoors-- especially in a bowling alley. But, the workshop ADS & Voc Hab groups got out for a "fun Friday" afternoon.

Announcing CLI's newest service exclusively offered to people who are community employed--

because there's more to life than the daily grind!

We believe that lifetime learning and playing shouldn't stop after high school or after you get your

first "real" job! CLI wants to help you continue to grow and/or to enjoy the fruits of your labor!

CLI's Good Works Cafe offers a free community lunch every Friday afternoon at the Norwalk Reservoir Clubhouse.

Thanks to the generous donations (money & food), CLI is able to take care of our neighbors and also get some real life restaurant and customer service job training.

If you'd like to learn more or would like to donate to this cause--

please contact Jen Swicker by phone at 419-706-6221 or by email at Jen@CLIsupports.com

Question of the week

Q: I heard that Kenilee Lanes has daytime & evening bowling leagues. When are they and how do I sign up for one?

A: Kenilee has a number of bowling leagues and pretty much every league is looking for more teams. There are leagues on Monday afternoon, Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night & Thursday morning. CLI staff is available to help you participate. Kenilee Lanes even offers a pretty huge discount to CLI and/or Firelands Local employees who want to join a league. Leagues start forming in August & September, so now is the time to decide if this is something you want to do. It's fun & and easy way to meet lots of new people.
