John's usual--
It was a short work week for me last week. I ducked out early on Wednesday to jump in an Interlake-class sailboat regatta. If you know me, you know that I have a thing for boats-- sailboats in particular. Now is the time of year that if you know that your want to get out on a boat (sail or power)-- or if you're just curious and would like to find out more-- CLI will get you on the water. But! You have to let us know that is something that you are interested in. If you use a wheelchair-- or if you do not-- let us know if you want to get out on a boat & we'll make it happen.
This week marked the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), signed into law by George H. Bush in 1990. Often people think of the ADA in terms of physical disabilities, but it was also a watershed moment for people with developmental disabilities, both in terms of public funding and in community access.
CLI's last Cornhole Tournament of the summer is on Friday, August 9th. We're pushing it hard & we'd love to see you there!
We'll be restarting our weekly CLI staff features in the newsletter soon. Please let me know if there is a standard question that you'd like me to have them answer in this feature & I'll include it.
That's all I have. Have a good week. Get outside. It's Ohio. This is as good as it gets (unless you really like fall like I do, then that is as good as it gets, except the sad part about the Ohio rainy 6 months of winter being the next feature...).
Keep those hands clean!
John
