Carole is still teaching crafting classes at the Firelands Local Workshop building. We'd love to have other people join us!

The Usual--

Kenilee's new Bowling Manager, Don Kuhlman, has been busy working overtime to get Kenilee up and running this fall. His first promotion is on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (a.k.a. Local Saturday). Stop out & say hi, even if you don't feel like bowling. FYI-- Firelands Local (and CLI) employees get a hefty discount-- so make sure that you remind him! If you want to reserve a lane, leave a message by phone at 419-668-9933 or by email to notbowlingalone.com.

We are putting the final touches on CLI's 2025 regular day program calendar and will be ready to release that later this week. Remember that this is for reguar day programs that we bring everybody into. CLI also offers activities (and lots of work transportation) on days and times that we are "closed".

We'll be sending out another one call next week before Thanksgiving to remind everyone that CLI's regular programs will be closed the Wednesday before and the Friday after Thanksgiving. If you do NOT get this call, let us know. This is important as we head into winter mix season.

Finally, we've had some questions from people who were getting the newsletter and suddenly are not. CLI will never take you off our email list unless you ask us to. If you don't see this newsletter, check your spam or trash folder on your email editing software.

Have a great week. It will be a super short one next week, so let's really make the most out of all 5 days this week.

Last week we celebrated some special people at CLI. Lakayla Asher is our employee of the month for October. Lakayla works nonstop when cleaning the workshop. She always works with a smile! Thank you Lakayla for being such a great employee! Tracey Lynch is our CLI Star of the Month for October. Tracey has taken some great strides and is trying new things. She has recently joined our THRIVE classes and is doing great. Thank you Tracey for being such a great member of the CLI family! Congratulations to both of these stellar role models!

DID YOU KNOW THAT

CLI offers an HPC after hours service-- "Thursday Date Night" support service? If you've got a significant other or a platonic bestie that you'd like to hit the town with, we can help you spend that hard-earned cabbage!

Thanks to the DODD ADS Quality Pilot Grant, CLI has a whole fresh new curriculum around technology and social media training-- including a lending library of 5G iPads that people can sign out and take home!

Tell Haven in you want to learn more.

Don't forget that CLI will help you plan & do fun stuff with your friends!

The Good News from the Good Works Cafe--

Applesauce!

. . . and a first time being totally impressed by the immersion blender (it really is an awesome tool!)

CLI's Good Works Cafe offers a free community lunch every Friday afternoon at the Norwalk Reservoir,

staffed entirely by volunteers with DD made from food donated by OHgo and other

community partners!

Question of the week

Q: How can I take advantage of CLI's new services that will help me do social activities in the community?

A: The short answer is to talk with your SSA first. Their job is help your build your plan of services that will help you be healthy & successful. CLI staff is available to help you connect with friends in the community-- whether at a local sporting event, a music event, a bowling league, or whatever. But, the process has to start with your plan, which is what gives CLI permission to help you plan and do these after hours activities with friends.
