John's usual--
I hope everyone's fall has been going well so far. We've been really trying to spend as much time outside as we can to enjoy the weather whenever it's nice. It won't be too much longer until spending time outside takes much more determination.
The question this week is about Kenilee Lane's offer to sponsor any bowling team that has at least 1 bowler with a developmental disability. This offer is open to other providers who might have their own full 3-person team that would like to bowl. The more the merrier. Bowling's kind of neat because even if your team isn't "integrated"-- meaning that everyone on the team does or does not have a DD-- you get 100% blended in with a different team every week. It's highly interactive. And there's beer, so . . .
Speaking of Kenilee Lanes-- Open Bowling starts for the winter on Saturday 1pm-9pm every Saturday, beginning with October 21st. CLI's Darlene Sinwald will be covering most of these Saturdays with me as her backup-- so stop out & see us.
DODD announced the Pilot ADS grant submission date (2pm on August 12th). I'm working on CLI's and will share the details of what we're proposing to do closer to the submission date. I think there will be a lot of competition for these grants, so fingers crossed!
It seems like a long time ago, but it was just last May that CLI finally allowed van drivers & riders to take their masks off in the vans. We don't have any plans to put them back on this fall, but it does make me nervous when I hear that Flu & Covid case numbers are up. Please stay home if you don't feel well. CLI will be following the CDC guidelines (fyi).
That's all I have for this week. Stay safe!
John
