We're a partisan bunch about more than a few random things. Apparently (according to Tammy) this guy's thumbs up is a long-awaited acknowledgement that Chevy is better than Ford . . .

John's usual--

This is Olivia Ramsey's last week with CLI. She started with us in the fall of 2020 and we've been lucky to have her for the past 3 years. Olivia was dependable & creative. We'll miss her, although I'm sure that we'll still see lots of her in the future. But after this week she no longer has to listen to me or pretend that I'm funny.

There was a typo in the last 2 newsletters. CLI's regular day programs are closed for the holidays starting on Saturday 12/23/23 and returning on Wednesday 1/3/24. Sorry for the error. I know that it caused a bit of confusion.

There is quite a bit of COVID going around right now. CLI's had a number of staff out sick and I know that there have been quite a number of our clientele who out too. In this week's question, we detail our policy specifically for COVID. The long & short is that we follow the CDC recommendations, which means that if you have COVID or live with someone that does-- we're going to make you wear a mask for a little while if you want to participate in CLI activities-- or stay home for a pretty long time. We'd rather have everyone with us, but we know that many people can't tolerate a mask and/or just don't want to wear it.

A big thank you to Ron Ross-- who celebrates his first year with CLI this month. The van that Ron was driving last Wednesday got a flat with a really big screw in the tire. Like many new cars, the Siennas don't have spares or jacks as OEM equipment, but that didn't stop Ron. He was able to get the tire off, take it to his house & plug it! I appreciate those mad derby skills. Thanks for being both our driver & pit crew this week Ron.

I hope you all have a great final week leading up to Christmas and to the time off. Stay safe. We look forward to seeing you all in 2024!

I was invited to Monica's 60th earlier this year. I wore 1 dress more than 20 years ago and I've never heard the end of it-- usually loudly & in public

Welcome to FL's newest team member-- taking over the Firelands Local Production Supervisor position for Roxanne Neel who is joining the CLI staff Team.

Andrew is the nephew of a former CLI client. He lives in Bellevue but is originally from Norwalk, having graduated from St. Paul High School in 2010. His hobbies include creative writing, and he is learning to play the piano. He also enjoys being outdoors and enjoys doing his own landscaping. His work background has been in the customer service industry for the last 10 years.

We are very excited to have him on board and look forward to the impact that he will make!

CLI's Good Works Cafe offers a

free community lunch every Friday afternoon at the Norwalk Reservoir Clubhouse

Thanks to the generous donations (money & food), CLI is able to take care of our neighbors and also get some real life restaurant and customer service job training.

If you're feeling generous & want to donate to GWC, here's what we're looking for this week:

Tomato Soup (6 Large cans or 12 small)

Beef and Chicken Bouillon (2 of each)

Small snack bags

Maraschino cherries (1 jar)

Question of the week

Q: What are CLI's Policies if I test positive for COVID? What if my roommate tests positive?

A: CLI follows the CDC guidelines. This means:

If a CLI client or a CLI staff test have symptoms and/or test positive for COVID, they must quarantine for 5 days from the onset of the symptoms, then they can return to CLI, but must wear a mask 100% of the time they are with other CLI clients and/or staff for the next 5 days.

If a CLI client or a CLI staff live with someone who tests positive for COVID, they can participate in CLI programs as long as the following things are true:

  1. They take a COVID test and test negative
  2. They do not themselves have symptoms
  3. They wear a mask 100% of the time they are with CLI staff & clients until we've received official notice that their house has been cleared (no more COVID).
