CLI's Craft to Coin group has started a board in the Firelands Local Workshop building that provides an opportunity to share with everyone when you see someone doing something extraordinary!

See someone doing something great??

See a staff or individual that works extra hard and deserves recognition??

Jot it on the paper and turn it in… We would like to let everyone know!!!

Meet CLI's

Julie Moffit!

Here's a little known fact-- Julie Moffit was actually the first "staff" employee of CLI! She was hired in 2012 to run the Higher Grounds Coffee Shop in the Mercy Willard Hospital. The rest of CLI's staff wasn't actually hired by CLI in 2016 after CLI privatized away from the Huron County Board of DD at the end of 2015. Prior to that all other CLI staff were actually employed by HCBDD and assigned to CLI.

Julie says that her favorite part of the job is seeing people smile & laugh out loud. When not at work, her favorite activity is anything with or about her grandsons.

Volunteers at the Clothing Bank help sort & display donated clothes. It's a much milder volunteer spot than some of the local equestrian programs that other CLI volunteers are helping out!

John's usual--

I can't believe that we forgot to feature groundhog's day in last week's newsletter! That's one of my other favorite movies. My tastes are pretty simple. I put a YouTube clip in here to make up for my oversight. There were so many good ones to choose from.

In other rare sights-- Rhonda White popped her head out retirement last week. No word on whether we frightened her away and/or what that means for our winter expectations . . .

One point of clarification-- when CLI delays or cancels programs for the day and sends out a one-call, the number that shows up on your phone screen will be my number. If you do not answer, the system will leave a recorded voicemail. Many people seem to worry that I am trying to reach them personally at 6:30 in the morning. I know this because I immediately start getting calls. If you get a super early morning call from my numbers-- listen to your voicemail before you call me or any CLI staff. We're usually hard to reach because we're usually scrambling to cover all the last minute changes that happen when we delay or cancel.

Stay warm!

John

FL's Andrew Smith sent in these document destruction pics. He says that it's often hard to take shred pictures because of customer confidentiality requirements-- but they figured out some end of the day action shots loading empty bins back into the shred van. Looks like work!

Question of the week

Q: How do I join a bowling league?

A: Leagues form teams in the fall, so the teams are already set for this season. However, if you are interested in participating, there are opportunities to jump in and bowl as a substitute in different leagues. It's a fun time and a good way to meet new people. If you are interested in committing to the whole season next year, we'll be asking people again in August/September.
