Week of 3/11/2024

CLI's Ron Ross is in Reno, Nevada, right now to compete in a big bowling competition. Make sure that you ask him about it when you see him again next week!

John's usual--

Hopefully everyone successfully made the 1 hour leap forward yesterday. I'm not a fan of daylight savings time personally. I would prefer the evening daylight hours all year round. But, it is another sign of spring too, which I am absolutely ready for. This coming week's weather looks decent, but I'm still pretty sure that we'll get one more decent snow storm before March is through.

We've had considerable interest in CLI's new Transition Youth Services-- particularly for big, full-day weekend trips to museums, amusement parks, etc. There seems to be less interest in our after school offerings, which include classes as well as helping students attend their school sporting events. We're going to see how this first quarter of services play out-- but if these first indications are reliable, CLI's next quarter of activities might skew more Friday-Sunday big trips than earlier in the week. Our curriculum can fit this format just as well as the after school time-slot, so it will be a matter of adjusting staff schedules more than big changes to what we want participants to get out of their participation. We're big on making productive use of goofing off! In the meantime, we're committed to the posted 3 month calendars shared in this (and last newsletter). Saturday time slots are filling in quickly, people looking to do something on the calendar should talk to their SSA asap.

We've shared Norwalk's Market on Main information below in the flyer portion of our newsletter. CLI has participated in these in the past and we're working on our schedule to see if we can be part of this again this year. If we do, we'll be looking for people to join us every other Friday evening this summer.

Finally, we've had a lot of interest in the Bowling Center Manager position. There have been some questions about what exactly "base" salary means for this job. The short answer is that the position will very likely earn significantly more than the base salary because of two reasons. The heavy bowling season is December through March, so there will overtime opportunities at time + a half. Also, the position will be eligible for a share of the annual net income for bowling operations. This would come in the form of a bonus each fall. The deadline to apply is this Friday, March 15th. If anyone has questions or wants to apply, they can email me directly at john@CLIsupports.com.

Thanks & have a great week!

John
