Week of the Eclipse!

(April 8, 2024)

https://nationaldaycalendar.com/april

CLI hosted it's first Transitional Youth Bowling Party of 2024 at Kenilee Lanes last week on Friday, March 22nd. It was a good turnout and a fun time. CLI's next FREE

Transitional Youth Event will be on Friday, April 26th.

Quinn is a University of Toledo Recreation Therapy Intern with CLI this spring. It's been great having her therapeutic expertise for all sorts of applications including working toward communication goals

John's usual--

The eclipse big day is finally here. It was hard to plan around the unknown. We erred on the side of caution and have closed everything except the bowling alley today (Monday). So if you want to venture out on Monday between 12pm-7pm, swing by Kenilee Lanes. Darlene & I will be holding the fort down here. I figure that it will be either extremely busy or extremely slow. Everything was super slow over the weekend, so we'll see.

CLI programs will be back to normal on Tuesday morning. At least that's our plan. If there are any special problems that arise on the day after, we'll notify everyone via the one-call system

Our next free transitional youth bowling pizza party will be on Friday, April 26th, from 6pm-9pm. If you or someone in your family is between the age of 14-23 and is eligible for services from your County Board of DD, you are invited. We'll be breaking in two groups this time. Kids will be dropped off at Kenilee Lanes to hang out with me, Roxanne, and Grace. Parents will meet at 38 West Seminary Street with Haven Helmstetter. We'll have food at both places.CLI

That's all I have. I have a feeling this week will go by quickly and the sunny, warmer weather will continue.

John

There's been lots of the foam job at the Firelands Local Workshop over the last 2 weeks.

It's a fun job that most people like, but there's heavy lifting getting the scrap material into gaylords.

Question of the week

Q: Why will CLI be closed for the Eclipse on April 8th?

A: The short answer is that we aren't sure we could get people home at the end of the day anywhere close to the regular times. This can be a big deal for people who have scheduled medicines and/or need to eat on a regular schedule. We were also worried about getting vans stuck in traffic for an uncomfortable amount of time.
