John's usual--
I hope everyone had a good weekend. It was nice to have two nice days in a row. I guess it's time to start reminding people to apply sunscreen before you think you need it.
Carole Johnson is the featured staff of the week. Carole's been a great addition to our staff. She first came to CLI because she wanted to volunteer, but we were able to talk her into a little paid work helping the Inter-office mail courier. Carole's positivity is infectious. Holly reminded me last week of something Pete Moore (CEO of the Ohio Provider Resource Association) said about maintaining your company culture. His point was that it takes concerted effort by everyone, that it isn't good when you get to work and you're disappointed to see someone else's car in the parking lot. Well, we're always glad to see Carole's car!
Haven, Kristi, Roxanne & Grace have been hard at work expanding CLI's Community Employment services to be a more broad array of supports. Up until now we've mostly just focused on the obvious issues-- helping people find a job, keep that job, and get transported to that job. However, there is much more to work than simply going to work. While I do believe that working has value for work's sake, it takes more than a job to make a well-rounded life. Helping people with work is a necessary starting place, but we must do more to support the whole person. So, over the next few weeks, Haven will be pushing out CLI's new "THRIVE in Community Employment" array of supports. We're pretty excited about it.
That's all I have for now. Have a great week!
John
