John's usual--
So, just a quick word of explanation about the photo strip to the right which I realize looks a bit like a slow-mo mugging in which the victim is left without their shoes. We're a little bit about sports at CLI & there are those among us who are always looking for reasons to celebrate and/or harass fans of certain teams. In this case CLI's Julie Moffit found a pair of sparkly Bengals shoes for a fan. You kind of had to be there.
We heard last week that DODD has received CMS approval to push out the community ADS pilot grant that I mentioned in the newsletter last week. CLI will be applying for this. Stay tuned to find out whether CLI is chosen for this grant-- and if we are, what new opportunities it means will be available.
For those of you who have been inconvenienced that the wheelchair lift in the Pink Transit Van has been out of commission for the past 2+ weeks-- it has finally back in good working order. Usual apologies & thanks for your patience. CLI's fleet is showing its age this year. We're hoping to add a couple minivans to our fleet in 2024 so that we can limit the miles on the expensive accessible vehicles and so that the age of our fleet is staggered so that we're not dealing with old vehicle problems on all 16 vans, cars & trucks at the same time.
We should start getting some fall color over the next 2-3 weeks, so we're going to really work on helping people experience the good parts of this Ohio season. However, winter is coming, so it's time to make sure that CLI's one-call system has the correct number for you & anyone that you feel needs to know about delays and cancellations. We'll be running a couple test calls in October. I'll point them out in this newsletter as the occur. You'll want to make sure that you are getting these calls.
That's all I have for this week. Weather looks good, so spend some time outside!
John
