First Day Volunteering at Boots to Grasses!

Just a reminder that Swick's last working day is this Friday, August 25th. This is also CLI's next cornhole tournament at 38 West Seminary Street in Norwalk, so we're going to make that do double duty: fundraiser + Swick's farewell party. Please come out to wish her well. We'll have plenty of Miller Lite on hand (Swick's brew of choice). In the meantime, if you have any funny or embarrassing pictures of Jen-- send them in and we'll feature them in the newsletter and on our Facebook page! You're running out of time though. This is our last week to make fun of her. After this we'll have to be polite & professional because we won't have leverage (other than the knowledge of past crimes).

Speaking of Cornhole-- turnout should be pretty good this Friday. Jen's nephews got us registered with Scoreholiio, which is apparently where people look to find local tournaments. It's a mixed bag having a lot of players. The prize pot goes up $20 with every team, but the competition gets steeper too. Even if you don't play cornhole, please come out and help us send off Swick in proper form!

Are you into gaming? CLI hosts a gaming hour every afternoon at the FL Workshop at 2pm!

Announcing CLI's newest service exclusively offered to people who are community employed--

 because there's more to life than the daily grind!

We believe that lifetime learning and playing shouldn't stop after high school or after you get your

first "real" job! CLI wants to help you continue to grow and/or to enjoy the fruits of your labor!

CLI's Good Works Cafe offers a free community lunch every Friday afternoon at the Norwalk Reservoir Clubhouse.

Thanks to the generous donations (money & food), CLI is able to take care of our neighbors and also get some real life restaurant and customer service job training.

Due to the increased need in our community,

we will no longer take pre-orders for the free lunches.

We are open from 11:30 until meals run out. The limit per person will be 6 so we can better serve those in need. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Q: Are you going to replace Jen Swicker?

A: While there is really only one O.G. Jen Swicker and nobody can completely fill her shoes-- CLI is definitely working hard to recruit at least 2 new full-time staff. We've been fortunate so far in 2023 to have hired a number of good people, but we need a few more!
