John's usual--
I'd like to apologize to my friends at Goodwill Industries who really liked when we used to cut & paste weekly chunks from the National Day Calendar site (nationaldaycalendar.com). Unfortunately, the site changed its formating so that we can't figure out how to easily cut & paste those days as a list. If you like that kind of thing-- I'd encourage you to go directly to that website and look up those days. This coming week the highlights I noticed were:
- Monday- Handwriting & Pie. (I have terrible handwriting but I do love pie)
- Tuesday- Global Belly Laughs, Beer Cans, Education, Compliments & Peanut Butter
- Wednesday- Florida, Library Shelfie, Irish Coffee & Opposites
- Thursday- Australia, Peanut Butter Brittle, Green Juices & Spouses
- Friday- Vietnam Peace, Breast Pumping, Holocaust Remembrance, Big Wig, Fun at Work, & Chocolate Cake
- Saturday- Community Engagement, Data Privacy, Seed Swap & Kazoo
- Sunday - Corn Chips & Puzzles
The picture above is of 1 of 300 reverse raffle tickets being sold by the Norwalk Arts Center. The actual raffle is on St. Patrick's day with the grand prize being a week long get-away package to Ireland. Tickets are $100 and they are aready almost all sold. I have 4 tickets left if anyone is interested. The Norwalk Arts Center (NAC) and their board members have been great partners to us at CLI and I really appreciate their enthusiasm for improving our community. You can learn more about NAC and this raffle by going to their website norwalkartscenter.org.
For those of you who are also doing Dry January this year, I hope it's going well. I'm usually a pretty reluctant participant and barely manage to register the month as "damp". However, this year I'm pretty into it. It's definitely improved the quality of my sleep. That being said, I don't really have any intentions of going for another lap in February.
Weather this week looks a bit more typical for January in Ohio-- so dress accordingly, be careful walking, and keep on the lookout for one-calls about delays or closings. I hate to close and we try not to do it, but we'd rather cause an inconvenience than an injury or worse.
That's all I have for this week. There are still lots of various illnesses going around. Keep washing those hands and maintaining safe distances between others when possible.
John
