Week of January 6th

The Usual--

This will be our first full 5-day week (weather permitting) for a while. I know that I'm looking forward to getting back in my routine. I loved the break, but I'm ready to buckle down again.

A couple housekeeping notes--

• we put out a couple one-call messages in December. Hopefully everyone got them and is confident that you are included for future alerts. Call me or Holly if you are not sure.
• Norovirus is really going around right now. This extremely contagious virus probably won't kill you, but it'll definitely ruin your week. Good handwashing is your best defense. It's really important that we not have a run of this rip through the whole group of us. Let's all do our part to keep each other healthy!

What's new in Thrive?

The THRIVE classes worked right up the last day before our holiday break! We worked on money skills by playing Holiday Jeopardy and finished up our mock interviews. A big thank you to John, Holly, and Haven for conducting the interviews and giving feedback.

We recognized some special people this month.  Our CLI Star of the Month for November and December is Mark. Mark has made a great transition to spending some days at Seminary and some at the workshop. He is happy and a joy to have in both locations!

Our Employee of the Month for November and December is Angi. Angi is kind to everyone and will make the extra effort to ask everyone she sees how their day is going. In the workplace, she is very flexible. She will work anywhere she is asked and do any job given. And, finally, Angi has become a star student in the THRIVE classes!

We are so proud of both Mark and Angi and celebrate their successes.

The Good News from the Good Works Cafe--

CLI's Good Works Cafe offers a free community lunch every Friday afternoon at the Norwalk Reservoir,

staffed entirely by volunteers with DD made from food donated by OHgo and other

community partners!

Members of GWC toured the Second Harvest Food Bank in Lorain. We learned where the food products we use for our community Friday meals are from.
