If you are an Ohio father with a child with developmental disabilities, of any age, consider participating in a brief (5-10 minute) survey, and joining one of two virtual Father's Forums. We are eager to hear from you!

Survey: Simple, 18-question survey that shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes. Participating fathers will have an opportunity to win one of two $50 gift cards. The survey, which will be open until July 10, 2022, can be found here.

Father’s Forum: An opportunity for fathers to chat via Zoom with other Ohio fathers to share their experiences and what supports and resources they want and need. Afternoon and evening sessions are available:
  • Evening Session: Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 6 PM – 7 PM (Register here)
  • Afternoon Session: Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 12 PM- 1 PM (Register here)
John's usual--

This Friday is the boat ride with All Ports Yacht Club at Venetian Marina on Friday, June 17th. This used to be an annual trip for CLI, but the last time we've done it was 2019! This is always a fun day that starts with a powerboat cruise around Sandusky Bay, then an awesome lunch before they send us on our way with lots of swag. If you are not signed up yet, there may still be an opportunity to get on the back up list.

Another reminder that June 24th (1 week from this Friday) will be our 1st of 4 cornhole tournaments with prizes going to each individual winning team and for the series. The final Saturday event on September 24th will include a chili cook-off & reverse raffle tickets. We'll be selling those raffle tickets all summer for $25 each. If you need a team mate, we can help you find one.

The summer feels like it's flying by and it's not even technically summer yet. Let us help you make the most of it. Let us know if you there is something out of the ordinary that you & your friends would like to get on the schedule.

Have a great week! It's going to be a hot one.
John
We're touching up our cornhole boards for another season. Register your team today!
In case you're wondering what day it is-- according to nationaldaycalendar.com it might be:

FAQ of the week:

Q (1): I got a one-call phone call last week-- what was that about?

A: CLI sent a one-call out last week just to prep people for the possibility that our transportation services might be a little bit off schedule in June as we juggle our OOD Summer Youth Services on top of regular services.

Q(2): CLI has a day camp for young kids this year, but the cost is $400/week. Why is it so expensive?

A: CLI's summer camp is therapeutic with a very high staff:participant ratio. Other camps might be cheaper for participants if the costs are being subsidized by someone-- a parish or another agency. CLI doesn't have that resource at this time, so our only option is to put out a service for which we hope that with enough participants, the participation fees will cover the cost of covering the staff expenses for the camp.
CLI & Firelands Local have new opportunities for paid vocational training. So, for those of you who have been asking when the workshop will be open-- this is it.

Full-disclosure, it's going to be a mix of paid work at the workshop, or perhaps another community work place AND classes or activites related to long-term goals of community employment.

Interested? Space is limited, so talk to your SSA today.
