Week of November 3rd, 2025

Norwalk Salvation Army Volunteers!

Have you seen anyone from CLI do something that impressed you? Did we do anything that made you wish we hadn't?

Take 3 minutes and fill out a quick survey to tell us about it. There's a FREE Ohio Lottery Scratch Off ticket in it for you-- and we'll keep it confidential if you want us to.

The Usual--

For those of you paying attention, CLI had our scheduled Compliance Review by the Ohio Department of DD this past Monday, November 3rd. We always appreciate getting outside perspective on what we do. That being said, we have some administrative corrections to make in 2 areas. We'll share those Plans of Correction in later weeks if anyone is interested. All in all it was a positive experience and we enjoyed spending the day with the DODD Reviewers.

I'm grateful that there was such a strong showing for the Huron County Board of DD's levy this past Tuesday. That money is still important. When residential or day providers like CLI provide a service to a person with DD, we bill the Ohio Department of DD, who then collects more than a third of that amount from the County Board of DD in the county that the person lives in. That Medicaid money can't be accessed without the local match that currently comes from the property tax levies.

Short one this week. Have a great weekend!

Firelands

Local LLC

Did you know that Firelands Local has jobs starting at $10.71/hour? Email James Johnson at james@firelandslocal.com for more information!

The Good News from the Good Works Cafe--

A few last Halloween pics from Friday . . .

Question of the week

Q: How much does the workshop (Firelands Local) pay?

A: Firelands Local LLC pays all workers at least $10.71/hour until the end of 2025.

On January 1st, that minimum FL wage goes up to $11.01/hour!

That's why it's so important that the FL work crews are all business when they are clocked in. If there are 10 people working for an hour, the work crew has to produce more than $125/hour in value just to break even.

CLI encourages you to contact our politicians to make sure that they know how important and relevant DD services are to you. The reality is that $.66 out of every dollar spent on people with DD in Ohio comes from federal Medicaid dollars. Your voice matters!
