There's no new CLI video this week, but you can check out
all of CLI's videos by visiting CLI's YouTube channel:

In case you're wondering what day it is--
according to nationaldaycalendar.com it might be:
What are you interested in?
Jill spent some time with Boots To Grasses & the Body Mind Balance team took a closer look at the new adaptive equipment at McGuan Park. CLI is working on expanding kids' summer day camp next June. Having this fully wheelchair accessible outdoor space and public restrooms in Norwalk is a real plus!

We're excited about this summer camp because it will both help local kids-- but also it will be a neat opportunity for some on-the-job employment experience for any of CLI's current clients who are interested in working in
an educational and/or a camp-type setting.
Did you know that CLI contracts with other companies and agencies for professional Occupational Therapy services and more?

We're always looking for ways to collaborate with others!
John's usual--

Haven & I spent Thursday & Friday last week at a conference with Ohio Provider Resource Association ("OPRA" for short). CLI rented booth space at this conference because we'd like to collaborate more with other agencies around the state-- and having a licensed Occupational Therapist (Haven) seems like a great opportunity. Attending this conference was a great chance to talk in person and compare notes with other professionals who are struggling with the same issues that we all are. I feel like I say it all the time, but this is a super interesting time in the DD field.

I know it is scary to have so many things up in the air with 2020 completely wiping out the 40 year-old model of day services. What's happening in Huron County is happening all around the state. And while I don't think anyone has quite sorted out exactly how we make the new model meet everyone's needs yet-- it is impressive just how many cool stories you hear of what people are doing. As a system, Ohio's made more progress in last 5 years than we'd made in the previous 30+. That being said-- we need to make sure that the new Ohio provides people with DD and their families with equal safeguards that they've come to expect. I know that we're not there yet.

The link to CLI's 2021 survey is to the right. Please help us by completing it. It won't take you more than 5-7 minutes. Make sure to give us your contact information so that we can send you a scratch off lottery ticket to say THANKS!

Have a good week. Keep yourself and others safe!

It sure feels like the weather was waiting for the calendar to change to November.  I have had several people tell me they saw some snow showers last week.  I even learned a new word last week. Graupel.  One of the weather forecasts I saw was calling for graupel.  Never heard of this before but it is a legit weather thing.  It is often referred to as soft hail.  It is the stuff that looks like small Styrofoam balls.

I am attaching 2 pictures.
The picture with a bird is actually an eagle perched high above steel vengeance at Cedar Point last week. The other picture is an incredible sunrise.  Many of you have realized that I love taking pictures of the natural beauty that is all around us if we stop and look for it.  We are all extremely busy and get set in our routines.  It can be very easy to overlook things that can be right in front of us.  I would encourage everyone to look around once in a while at your surroundings and you may be surprised at the beauty that has always been there for you to enjoy.

We were busy last week with several large shred pickups and drop offs.  We also had our monthly 1st wed drop off.  We had 44 people drop off 1900 lbs. of material to be shredded. We shredded 13,000 pounds of paper and recycled 6,000 pounds of cardboard.  We also completed 31,000 units of production.
