The Usual--
CLI submitted a grant application to DODD this week to offer young adults a service that "braids" SafeinHome remote supports with adult day services, transportation, and employment supports. We'd like to give families an option to traditional segregated day service sites, while still offering them the security to know that their person is safe. We should know pretty soon how DODD feels about this proposal.
Thanks to the Norwalk JayCees and the Dorn Foundation-- CLI & Kenilee Lanes are $1,000 further toward our big audacious goal of raising $208,000! Only $185,000 further to go! For anyone interested in making a donation, the Dorn Foundation has offered CLI a "Challenge Grant" that will match up to $15k for money that we raise between September 15 and December 31, 2025! We'll be figuring out a way to put all donors names in the finished space after renovations-- so you'll get full credit (if you like that kind of thing)!
CLI's next fundraising event will be on Local Small Business Saturday, which is right after Thanksgiving. We'll be hosting a pop-up shop and boozy hot chocolate bar at 16 West Main Street that day-- with live music courtesy of The Last Call Trio. This is also the Light Up Norwalk Celebration, so it's about 3 hours of wall-to-wall people.
