Week of July 27th!

Interested in any CLI Swag?

Check out the order form and let us know. Either fill out the form and return it to Jimmy-- or just get in touch with him directly.

There is a cost to these, so make sure that you want to spend the money before you place your order -- after is too late!

John's Usual --

Congratulation to CLI's Darlene Sinwald who was awarded "DSP of the Month" by the Huron County Board of DD! We're definitely grateful for what Darlene brings to CLI every day!

I just want to shout out to the Huron County Commissioners for all the recent investments/updates they've made to the workshop building at 306 South Norwalk Road. The project this week was taking down the really sad looking pine & (formerly) ornamental trees between the road and the west parking lot.

Just a reminder that Jimmy is spearheading a another CLI apparal order with Nobil Sports-- if you want anything-- let him know.

Finally-- CLI has had to implement a waiting list to take new clients so we will be starting to pay more attention to client attendance. If you have been absent quite a bit and want to keep your spot with CLI, reach out to Holly or Haven so that we know that you plan to attend regularly. Otherwise, CLI might advise you that we can't be a willing provider any longer so that we can offer your spot to someone else. It's ok if you don't want to participate in CLI services. We will support your choices, but we just won't be able to keep you on our roster if you aren't able to show up.

Have a nice weekend!

John

What's new in THRIVE?

We have completed the mock interviews! I was very happy with how everyone did!

We are now working on writing thank you notes to those who interviewed us. We are also going over what we can do better. We will then be working on trying to get better interview skills for next time!

We will do a second mock interview in about 6 - 8 weeks and see how much we improved!

Norwalk Public Library Volunteers know that those shelves don't dust themselves . . .

Firelands Local LLC

The workshop provides a safe space to learn new job task-- both to broaden abilities, but also to see what people like to do-- whether that's big "gross motor" tasks like baling cardboard and boatwrap, or "fine motor" tasks like product assembly.

CLI & FL work together to provide an array of employment training options both in the workshop and out in the community.

We've been really asking everyone to stretch outside their normal jobs & try new tasks.

The Latest from The Good Works Cafe (GWC)--

GWC Volunteers puts together a delicious & free community meal every Friday, served at the Norwalk Veteran's Memorial Lake Park Clubhouse!

CLI’s Good Works Cafe has had the privilege of serving the community with meals on a donation basis since 2020. We are thankful for all of the community partnerships and support we have had to make it this far. Quite honestly, we are struggling to keep up with the need for meals due to a shortage of donations. Unfortunately this means we will be limiting the max amount of meals per vehicle to five as of 8/1/2026. Every donation, no matter the size, helps to continue serving those in the community. Thank you for your kindness and support!

If you are able to help, here are some ways you can support us: non- perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cooking/baking essentials, monetary donations to help purchase fresh ingredients or even sharing our message with others can make a meaningful difference!
