Week of July 27th, 2020

The gang at 16 West have been keeping active doing Tai Chi (upright or using a chair). So far, they have learned movements such as “parting the wild horse’s mane”, “brush knee”, and everyone’s favorite, “the rooster raises his leg”! Whoever came up with these movement names deserves and award!

So what do you do when you're stuck in one side of the workshop surrounded by new 8' blank walls? And John is no longer allowed in to see? Paint 'em of course. The east side crew has been busy & It looks great!

For anyone still self-isolating at home who misses CLI's spring activity bags-- some of the folks in CLI's facility-based groups are looking for ways to give back and we all thought that making/delivering activity bags would be an easy fit. If you would like an activity bag delivered to your doorstep-- your contact for that is Miss Jenny Swicker. I hope that you are well and that you're making the most of this weird summer. The weather has been pretty great. I know that its been going by too fast for my family. I have less than a month until Graeme is back at college & Lily starts her senior year of high school. As we all enjoy summer activities & friends-- let's all be smart with our choices. Politics aside-- it is absolutely critical that the our corner of the world doesn't shut down again. If masks, social distancing and crazy strict cleaning schedules let's us operate-- we are in! From James Johnson, GM Well we had a fairly quiet week last week and it looks like this week will be quiet as well. Our next drop off day is rapidly approaching. It will be Wed 8/5 from 9-2.   I would like to congratulate Roxanne on celebrating her 1 year wedding anniversary recently.   We hear about Christmas in July, well I think it is a good time to think about Thanksgiving. Why? I am glad you asked. In a time where the global pandemic has taken over the news and we hear and see sickness all around. I think we should take a few minutes to see what we should be thankful for.

I find this to be helpful when I get frustrated about seeing the climbing numbers of infected people with the virus. Be thankful for your health, for the ability to continue the fight against getting Carona. None of us WANT to wear a mask. We still have the ability to wear one to help keep ourselves and others protected.  To everyone who has a mask on, I thank you for helping to keep me safe.
