John's Usual Excuses & Apologies-

One of my favorite kid movies is The Princess Bride. So many good lines-- and I think for this particular Hallmark Holiday -- appropriate. If you haven't seen it and you're pining for a Peter Falk cameo and a bit of working corn, I highly recommend it.

CLI closed almost all of our programs 3 out 5 days last week just to stay on the safe side. We hate to do it because we know that it's hard on a lot of people. However, it's hard to not worry about what might happen when everything else seems to be shutting down.
On the bright side, we haven't had to cancel all of our STEPS service every day, so as we start to expand STEPS, it might make things a little bit more consistent regardless of snow next year.

It is going to be super-cold this week. Please wear warm clothes and gloves. Also, Do NOT wait outside for a CLI van. Wait where you can stay warm. After you see us coming, then carefully make your way out to the van. We don't want anyone frostbit or injured because they slip & fall trying to rush. We are happy to wait as long as we need to.

That's all I have for this week. Stay safe & warm. I went cross-country skiiing this past weekend. I'd kind of forgotten that winter can be fun. Let Swick know if you want to go play in the snow too!

The Ohio Association of County Boards of DD is sponsoring a commUNITY film fest. The deadline for submissions is March 12. The link above will take you to their home page where you can find full contest details. Edited videos need to be between 2-5 minutes long. CLI is looking to support CLI clients who want to submit a video. If you have someone at home who will help you edit your video, we'll even make it worth your crew's while by giving you a $75 Target gift card that you can use to compensate them for their help.
This video was made by our friends at Riverview Industries in Oak Harbor and Assured Health in Toledo. It's an infomercial about the COVID vaccine, but it's also a good example of people having fun making one-- and it's useful!

Would you like to join CLI for some fun virtual activities? It's a bunch of loud fun!
"Oh, here's an idea: Let's make pictures of our internal organs and give them to other people we love on Valentine's Day. That's not weird at all."

From GM James Johnson--
Last week was a strange week due to the weather and it looks like it will continue to be challenging. We have some extremely cold days ahead of us. Please remember to dress appropriately. Also remember your pets. Do not leave them outside for to long.

Production was down last week due to time missed. We were still able to complete 14,000 units.

We only shredded 8000 pounds last week. We actually ran out of material to shred on Tuesday.  We had 33 customers for our drop-off day on Wednesday and collected 3200 pounds. We had another drop off on Thursday and ended up collecting 9000 pounds for the week.

Our next scheduled drop-off day will be in March.

Have a great week and stay warm
