From James Johnson, GM
As was referenced last week, the following information is coming from the horses mouth. I am not sure if John was suggesting I have a big mouth or simply that I am as big as a horse.
Anyway…….
This was an exciting week. I would like to start by giving a special Thank You to Rocio for her great work designing the first ever Firelands Local brochure. The intention behind this is to be able to give people something to look at when they are considering the services we offer. Last week I promised you more information about the Sandusky announcement.
We will be in Sandusky doing a “remote” drop off day on Monday 8/31 from 11-2 at the Sandusky courthouse on Meigs St.
I have been asked a few times, Why are you going out to do remote drop offs? There are a few answers to this. I believe that the surrounding communities have helped support CLI and Firelands over the years. This is an opportunity for us to go into areas and help the folks of those communities. The majority of the customers that come here to drop off stuff on the first Wed. of each month are mostly seniors. Now we have the opportunity to go to the ones that can’t always come to us. I would be remiss to say that we are also looking to use this as a tool to gain additional accounts. We will be in highly visible areas, we always love the exposure. We have already picked up a job from scheduling Willard on the 24th. This truly becomes a win-win situation.
I have had some preliminary talks with several other communities as well.
A while back we posted pictures of some kittens that had been hanging around. Several of them have come back. They seem to be in very shape. Please call Jen if you want her to catch one of them for you. Also, you can make an appointment with her to actually watch her try to catch them.
Once again I will have exciting news to present next week. I still have some details to finalize before the announcement. It is going to be good though. I can feel the anticipation building already.
