CLIA Installs INNsight's ADA Tray on
When CLIA leadership saw Raj Patel's presentation on INNsight's ADA Tray, which helps hotels achieve ADA Title III compliance and increases conformity to WCAG standards for website accessibiltiy, there was an immediate impetus to check out the product for our own website.

Our webmaster researched it and recommended we install it. He reports the installation was painless and the results very impressive. The product takes the headaches out of ensuring compliance at a very affordable cost.

A CLIA Member's Unannounced Cal/OSHA Inspection
A Lodging member recently called to tell us what happened when a staff member called Cal/OSHA about a lack of drinking water on the job. He suggested that we share his experience with others.

Here are the highlights of what the inspector asked about:
  • Eye washing station
  • MSDS book – a new employee didn’t know about it
  • Where do employees take their breaks?
  • Verbal training – always document it
  • MIPP
  • COVID training
  • Checked Posted Notices

His story is a good reminder to always record your training efforts, particularly with new employees.

Hospitality Companies Thought Insurance Coverage Would Be There for a Crisis. It Wasn’t.
Struggling hospitality companies keep taking the insurance companies to court over denied claims during the pandemic. They’re highly unlikely to win.
— Cameron Sperance, Skift

Caesars Entertainment is the latest hospitality company to wage a legal fight against its insurer to get a business interruption insurance payout due to government-ordered pandemic restrictions.

Based on legal precedent over the last year, the gaming company may not want to waste its time nor its law firm’s billable hours.
