And just like that, we are halfway through August! This week, we will start sending transition notices to any student who will be moving up to a new class in September.

As published in our August School calendar, this upcoming Fun Friday is our Family Fun Day! Make sure to check out the details below.

Also, we would like to put on your radar that next week we will be kicking off our Pet Food Drive in benefit of Friends for Life's Pet Food Bank and Mini Clinic.

The Magee Family for reading a total of 341 books this summer! Get excited for a family pizza night coming your way!

This Friday, August 19th we will be hosting a Family Fun Day during your child’s PM outdoor time. Enjoy delicious treats, fun games, and community! If you wear family matching outfits you will enter for a chance to win a free week’s tuition!

Family of the Month

Hi, everyone! We're the Nichols Family - Corben, Katharine, Lily (3 yrs), and Jane (15 m). We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, who love to keep us on our toes! As a result, Lily and Jane adore animals and are always interested in discovering new ones - birds, lizards, horses, you name it. Corben and Katharine are high school sweethearts, who attended Texas A&M together and then moved to Houston in 2010. Corben owns Flywheel Co, a brand and web development company. Katharine is a Realtor and co-founder of Lemon Grove Realty Group, specializing in the Oak Forest, Heights, and surrounding areas. We recently moved from Oak Forest to Camp Logan, with the intention of living closer to Memorial Park, where we spend most of our time. The whole family loves the outdoors and we travel as often as we can. We are so glad to be part of the Children's Lighthouse community and look forward to meeting more families at future CLOF events.

Join Mrs. Brenda for coffee Wednesday, August 17th from 8:30 am - 10:00 am. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and learn how we can work together!

Clifford the Big Red Dog has been teaching our students how passionate he is about helping others - especially his fellow pet friends! Our school will be hosting a Pet Food Drive in benefit of Friends for Life - a local rescue and adoption animal shelter in the community.

They accept any brand, size, style, etc. of food into the food bank—even bags that have already been opened! (The only pet food they cannot accept is expired food.)

We will have a collection box in our

front lobby starting August 22nd.
