2023 Important Reminders

Family of the Month

Hi! We are the Baeza family. Our oldest daughter, Isla, currently attends the Lighthouse. Isla lives with her baby sister Sophie, born last December, dad Chris and mom, Mina. We are excited that Sophie will join Isla at the Lighthouse this March. Isla is two weeks shy of 3 years old, while Sophie just turned one! Chris is an M&A attorney at King & Spalding, while Mina is an emergency medicine physician with HCA. Mom is Vietnamese but originally from Atlanta. She attended Emory undergraduate and medical school before heading to Baylor College of Medicine for residency here in Houston. Dad is British-Chilean but grew up in New York. He attended Cornell undergraduate, then The University of Chicago for his JD and MBA. Mina and Chris met in Houston after moving here for work. Chris is a budding wine enthusiast, while Mina, an amateur photographer, loves taking pictures of the girls and is working on creating an online bows/headband shop in her spare time. We have been living in Oak Forest since 2017 after Harvey flooded our previous home. We are proud to be a part of this community and excited to see our girls thrive at the Lighthouse!

Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to our November Teacher of the Month, Ms. Ashley!

Ms. Ashley joined our team this fall and has already made a huge impact on our school and her students. She also enjoys a good Fun Friday or Spirit Day!

Teacher of the Year

The 2022 Teacher of the Year Award goes to Ms. Gwen Blackwell! Ms. Gwen exemplifies the mission, vision, core values, and heart of our beloved Lighthouse. She initially started teaching our Room 2 babies and later on showcased her passion and knowledge when she took over our PreK classroom. We are so proud of having a teacher like Ms. Gwen in our school! If you see her around, please congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition!
