This week we get to countdown the days to our Fall Festival with a super fun Spirit Week! On Friday, we will be having our Costume Parade at 10 am. Please find the link for the live stream below.

Our 2nd Annual Fall Festival this Saturday, October 29th! We are still needing some more items to fill out silent auction baskets. They will be out until Wednesday of this week for you to continue bringing in your generous donations.

We are looking forward to seeing our CLOF community out celebrating with us. Lastly, as we say goodbye to October, please take a moment to download our November calendar is ready for download below.

Reader's Choice Awards 2022

If you live in Oak Forest, Garden Oaks, the Heights, or any other area around this school, then you have heard of The Leader newspaper. Every year, they host an opportunity for their readers to vote for their favorite businesses in the area. Last year, we won the award for Best After School Program! CLOF Winter Shirts for Sale!

Our school is very fortunate to have a PTA with an amazing group of working moms that carve time out of their busy lives to enrich our school as much as possible. One of the many things that they prioritize is at least one Teacher Appreciation event per month. Wonderful gestures such as gifting our teachers with treats or notes of affirmation to let them know that the parent population values their contributions to each child's success.

They have designed a Children's Lighthouse of Oak Forest winter shirt to sell in hopes to raise more funds to spoil our teachers! Below you will find a picture of the shirt as well as information on how to place your order.

The deadline to submit your order is Friday November 4th. Shirts should be received before Thanksgiving! Youth shirts are $15 and adult shirts are $20 each. Thank you for your support of our PTA!

Fun Friday: Costume Parade

We will have our costume parade this Fun Friday, October 29th at 10:00 am! To make it easier on our teachers, please bring your child dressed in their costume and they will help change them out of it after the parade. Due to limited parking, we will be limiting the event to students and staff only. However, we will be live streaming the parade using the password-protected link below.

Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to Ms. Jennifer - our September Teacher of the Month! Her hard work and dedication to her Room 6 students are admirable and do not go unnoticed. If you see her, please feel free to congratulate her!

Family of the Month

We are the Acevedo Family - Eliseo, Dominique, Isabella (16 months), and our dog Penny. Bella has been attending CLOF since she was 4 months old and absolutely loves everyone there. Eliseo works in oil and gas and Dominique is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Eliseo and Dominique are both native Houstonians and we love raising our family in the GOOF community, but in our free time, we love to travel and be outdoors. If we’re not at the beach or in the mountains, you can find us usually hanging out in the neighborhood supporting local businesses and restaurants. We are so thankful to have CLOF in our backyard.
