COVID-19 Keynote Session

Join us on Friday November 13 on day two of CLP 2020 for our special COVID-19 keynote session, introduced by ACLP Board member Maryland Pao, MD, FACLP.

In this session, experts will discuss what we have learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and its implications for health care including C-L Psychiatry.

We have three terrific speakers:

Anthony Fauci, MD, is Director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an international authority on infectious diseases and a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Dr Fauci will speak about the lessons we have learned so far from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brent James, MD, Clinical Research Professor at Stanford, is an international leader in quality improvement and patient safety, best known for his world famous work at Intermountain Healthcare. Dr James will discuss the direct and indirect consequences of COVID-19 on mortality and morbidity that are likely to affect us in both the short and long term.

Peter Shapiro, MD, FACLP, is an Academy past president and currently Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Service at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He leads the “Academy’s learning from COVID-19” Task Force, initiated by ACLP President Michael Sharpe. Dr Shapiro will discuss the implications of COVID-19 for C-L psychiatry and offer recommendations for ACLP.
