Evaluation of Rental Assistance
CLiME collaborated with scholars at the School of Public Affairs and Administration to evaluate lessons learned from NJ municipalities' experiments with federal emergency rental assistance, a project supported by the recently created New Jersey State Policy Lab. Our report will be released February 23rd.
Who Owns Newark?
CLiME is conducting a research project in collaboration with the Newark Community Development Network on the relationship between speculative property acquisition and gentrification in booming cities called Who Owns Newark? This project will look at the proliferation of property sales to unnamed buyers and investor LLCs, the phenomenon of "zombie owners" of both residential and commercial holdings and the market effect on local development of affordable housing. Senior Research Fellow Katie Nelson's policy brief, "Investor Buyers, A Brief Primer," provides initial context. Look for a major report later this spring.
New CLiME Research Fellow
We are excited to introduce Amadi Slaughter, our new CLiME research fellow. Amadi will be conducting critical research on the proliferation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs and initiatives as a remedy for civil rights violations. Read Amadi's bio on our website.
