Dear Dragon Families,
CMAS testing begins next week, April 8th, and will run through April 25th. The data resulting from CMAS testing directly correlates to our school’s performance rating with the state and is an integral part of our school improvement process. We encourage all eligible students to participate to ensure accurate data to improve learning and academic support for our students.
If you wish to opt your student out of CMAS testing, please come into the front office by 9 a.m. Monday, April 7th, to complete an opt-out form.
If you opt your student out of testing, they may either stay home and come to school when testing is over or come to school and hang out in a supervised reading room until
testing is done for the day. No computers are allowed during testing, even in the opt-out room, so please ensure your student brings a good book.
There are a few rules that must be followed while testing is in session:
- Students must bring wired headphones for use during testing.
- Students will not be signed out of class if they are in the middle of testing. There are no exceptions to this rule so please plan accordingly.
- Parents/guardians will be asked to wait in the vestibule until their student is finished.
- No visitors or volunteers are allowed in the building while CMAS tests are being administered.
- Students are not allowed access to any electronics during testing (this includes smartwatches and phones).
- Students may read quietly after testing until the entire class is done.
- Students that arrive late may miss their testing window and will have to take a make-up test at a later date/time.
Testing will begin at 8:15 a.m. (middle school) and 8:30 a.m. (elementary school).

- April 8, 9,10: Mathematics testing, Grades 3-8
- April 11, 14, 15: English Language Arts testing, Grades 3-8
- April 16: Social Studies, Grade 4 & 7
- April 16, 17, 18: Science, Grades 5 & 8
