The Maryland Governor’s
Business Summit
On September 20th, Governor Larry Hogan and Maryland’s business community will gather for the Maryland Governor’s Business Summit. While most business conferences cover niche industry topics, the Business Summit’s entire focus is on a topic that’s important to businesses of all sizes and in all industries: workforce.

Here are three things you can expect to take away from the Governor’s Business Summit.

  1. Advice and inspiration for building and retaining a strong team. Building strong teams is easier said than done, but by by leveraging diversity and innovation, and by creating great work environments, local companies are setting the bar high.
  2. Discussions and guidance about the workplace of the future. Two separate panel discussions will dive into Maryland’s future and the role of workforce. One panel will specifically dissect the role and benefit of apprenticeships in a modern workplace. A separate panel conversation will address Maryland’s future economy and workforce.
  3. Tons of connections. The Maryland Business Summit is an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and acquaintances, as well as make some new connections. With plenty of networking time built into the agenda, the Maryland Business Summit is the place to be if you want to make better connections among hundreds of Maryland business professionals.
Rebuilding Together Brings New Life to Community Near Fort Meade
Rebuilding Together Anne Arundel County, a safe and healthy nonprofit housing organization, returned to Still Meadows to improve the quality of life in a community that is populated by many active and retired military personnel.

The extended Fort Meade Military Community, located just off base, got new park benches and public trash receptacles installed in the common areas. Additionally, Still Meadows’ youngest residents received a brand-new, state-of-the-art, community playground as well as upgrades to the one installed last July.

Rebuilding Together Anne Arundel County provides critical repairs, accessibility modifications and energy efficient upgrades to low-income home owners and community centers, at no cost to the recipients.
