Langton Green, Inc.
Langton Green is a nonprofit whose mission since 1984 has been to provide homes and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they may live their lives with greater independence and quality of life. Since 2014 the Langton Green 13-acre community farm has provided them with vocational opportunities along with healthy fruit, vegetables and eggs for the 36 houses and apartments of Langton Green residents, with surplus going to other nonprofits such as the Lighthouse Shelter.
Please contact farminfo@langtongreen.org for ongoing volunteer opportunities year-round for group projects on the farm, for individuals to be trained as farm docents, or for assistants who perform simple farm tasks, such as planting, harvesting, or helping with animals on the farm. Also very-much-needed are skilled volunteers to help with refurbishing farm buildings.
