SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship. As the nation’s largest network of volunteer business mentors, SCORE is committed to helping any person succeed in their small business endeavors.

If you're just starting a business, SCORE mentors can provide the practical action plan, education and tools you need to open your doors and establish a customer base. Already own a business? Our volunteer mentors can help identify ways to increase profit, improve employee and customer satisfaction, and achieve work/ life balance.

Is your business prepared for an emergency? Join us for an overview of OSHA requirements for fire safety and learn how to form a written Emergency Action Plan that can be customized to your individual establishment. Emergency response topics will include weather emergencies as well as natural and man made disasters.

Who should attend? Small business owners who have storefronts and brick & mortar properties who want to improve their awareness of basic safety compliance and emergency preparedness tools and strategies.

Our special guest is Susan Catts, Safety Compliance Officer with Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH), a division of the Maryland Department of Labor.
Negotiation Strategies & Closing Techniques

Do you want to learn how to negotiate better business deals? Your success as an entrepreneur/business owner largely depends on your ability to negotiate deals, manage sales, and get paid. In this workshop we will cover the anatomy and stages of negotiations, and explore multiple negotiation strategies. We will also examine the art of closing the deal.

Who should attend? Small, minority, women, and veteran business owners who want to enhance their negotiation and closing skills.

Our special guest is Angie Duncanson, Senior Business Counselor with the Maryland Women's Business Center.Health (MOSH), a division of the Maryland Department of Labor.
