Maryland Therapeutic Riding is Seeking
New Development Committee Members
to Support Their Mission
Formed in 1996, Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) is a 501c-3 non-profit organization offering equine-based therapy programs for individuals with special needs and their families. Our Mission is “To improve the quality of life of children, adults, active military and veterans with special needs by connecting humans and horses in a healing environment.”
We are an award-winning therapeutic riding center located on a beautiful 25-acre farm providing a place of serenity and healing in Crownsville, Maryland. We have achieved the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) Premier rating, and our Program Director is one of only 28 PATH Master Instructors in the USA. We also are proud to have earned the GuideStar Platinum rating.

The Development Committee initiates and participates in the fundraising activities of MTR. As a committee of the Board of Directors, the members assist the Board in securing fiscal health through philanthropy and fund identification, development, and solicitation in partnership with MTR staff. This requires a 5-12 hour commitment per month with the benefit of supporting a purposeful cause!
