From: Shay Cook, Board Chairman
To: The Members of the Central Maryland Chamber
It is with a sense of gratitude that I inform the Central Maryland Chamber membership that Kristi Simon has decided to explore another opportunity and will be departing her role as President and CEO of the Central Maryland Chamber (CMC) as of February 9, 2024.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I express our gratitude to Kristi for her exceptional contributions during her four-year tenure. Through her effective leadership and strong ties with our Board and membership, we have made significant progress and I’m confident that our success will continue.
Kristi assumed leadership of the CMC a few years after our merger of the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber and West Anne Arundel County Chamber, resulting in the formation of a larger, regional organization. The CMC needed to establish its identity and reputation under the new name, and the CMC brand quickly became synonymous with unwavering support for members, providing valuable resources to local businesses and non-profits, and fostering meaningful partnerships.
During Kristi’s tenure, the Central Maryland Chamber not only navigated the challenges posed by a global pandemic but also thrived during this difficult period. With a renewed emphasis on member support and personalized engagement, the CMC’s ability to bolster regional businesses has grown significantly in both breadth and depth.
The creation of groups dedicated to fostering connections, facilitating growth, and promoting personal and professional development has cultivated a collaborative environment in our region. On behalf of our members, Kristi has established and built on strong relationships with business leaders, community stakeholders and elected officials, further enhancing the chamber’s impact. We are ready to build on this momentum and embark on the next chapter of our journey.
We extend our appreciation to Kristi, and we wish her all the best for the future. Please join me in thanking her for all her hard work on behalf of the Central Maryland Chamber, our businesses, and the community!
