COURSE OVERVIEW
Not only has breast density long been known to mask breast cancer on mammography, but breast density is an independent risk factor for the development of breast cancer. To date, more than half of the states in the US have passed legislation requiring patients be provided with some level of breast density information after undergoing mammography. The increasing awareness about the importance of breast density is necessitating new conversations between patients and their healthcare providers. This course will educate healthcare professionals about breast density, its associated risks, and how best to guide patients regarding screening mammography.
