The recent events that took place in Istanbul, reminded us how important it is for us and our partners to respond quickly to ensure our travellers' continued safety. We had a group departing on July 9th from Athens and disembarking in Istanbul. Celebrity Cruise Lines reviewed the destination's safety risk with their team of experts and determined it was in the best interest of their passengers and crew if they avoided Istanbul. This resulted in making a last minute change to reroute the ship to end in Athens. The Sea Courses team worked with Celebrity and our preferred airline partner, Air Canada, to inform our guests of the change. For the guests that booked with the Sea Courses Air Desk, we were able to work with Air Canada and make the modification quickly, securing their return flight as effortlessly as possible.
