Happy Fall, it is hard to imagine that we are already in November and the year is moving along so quickly. I want to take this opportunity to reach out to our new members and those returning members who were unable to join us at last year’s conference. The staff of CMEA implemented come exciting changes to the on-site registration process for the conference. As you are already aware, the CMEA Board approved a four-tier system of registration. Early bird registration closed on October 15, 2022, and we are now in the pre-registration phase. This phase closes on December 23rd. Regular registration opens on December 24th and runs through January 13th. New last year and continuing into this year is our “On-The Spot” registration, which opens on-line on January 14th and run through January 28th.
Any participant registering for the conference through January 23rd will be able to pick-up their materials at the pre-registration tables at the hotel. For those of you who miss these deadlines you still have the opportunity to complete your on-line registration form and either select to pay by credit card or to bring a check to the“On the Spot” registration in Broadmoor Hall. When you arrive at the “On the Spot” registration desk you will need to have a copy of either your registration confirmation or invoice available on your mobile device or through a printed copy. The registration worker will verify your registration and payment, and if paying by check on-site they will collect your check. You be handed your conference credentials and you will be on your way. It is important to note, there will no longer be any paper forms for registration. All registrations will take place through the on-line registration portal.
We are excited to offer a streamlined and faster process for conference registration and we look forward to seeing all of you in January 2023.

Greetings from Tri-M!
I hope your year is progressing nicely, and fall concerts are in the books. November is the time to start preparing for Tri-M Day 2023. Please mark Wednesday, January 25th, down in your calendar. We will meet in BroadMoor Hall in Colorado Springs and share our passion for music all day. Registration should be up by November 15th if not sooner. Please check www.cmeaonline.org and click the Tri-M tab. Our registration fee will not include lunch. We do this to help bring costs down as much as possible. You will have 75 minutes for lunch on your own.
Students will be able to build a schedule that is suited toward their interests. Composition, health and wellness, video gaming, jazz improvisation, choral games, hip hop, brass pedagogy and playing musically are just a handful of sessions to select from. Remember Tia Fuller is our Keynote Speaker. Please bring your instruments, as we will end our day performing a full orchestra piece with choir. It is a day you do not want to miss.
Tri-M is more than just Tri-M day in Colorado Springs. It is community service as well as being ambassadors in your school. What activities has your chapter done this year? For a list of ideas go to www.nafme.org and click “For Students tab. “You will find an extensive list to choose from.
Please let me know how I can help you and your chapter. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Michelle Ewer
