CMG Providers and Administrators:
Over the past 18 months, CMG has been evaluating the value of forming a strategic partnership as a way of supporting our long-term strategic plan. Throughout this process, we relied upon our guiding principles: creating sustainable opportunities for independent practices to thrive, optimizing the quality of care we deliver, and enhancing the experience of our providers.
I am pleased to announce that Community Medical Group has finalized a new relationship with Privia Health.
Privia Health is a technology-driven, national physician enablement company that collaborates with medical groups to optimize physician practices, improve patient experiences, and reward doctors for delivering high-value care. Supporting and maintaining independent medical practices is their core mission. With over 3,500 providers in markets across the country, Privia has a demonstrated track record of optimizing practice performance and improving financial incentives. A key component of this success is Privia’s integrated technology platform which will now be available to CMG providers.
As part of this joint venture, CMG and Privia have created a new entity, Privia Quality Network Connecticut, LLC (“PQN CT”), which will have shared ownership and governance. CMG will transfer its operations, including our employees, to PQN CT, while maintaining our existing management and physician board structure.
Importantly, CMG remains intact as a separate, independent entity from Privia and will serve as the provider network through which all existing and future CMG physician practices will participate in PQN CT. CMG’s existing governance structure remains the same and all providers will continue to be CMG participating providers with uninterrupted access to payor contracts and value-based programs under the clinical integration model. Although we are confident it will provide significant value for our network, participation in Privia’s EHR platform (currently athenahealth) will be optional and based on an individual decision by each practice.
CMG’s board and administrative leadership, along with CMG’s legal and financial advisors, have evaluated this affiliation in detail and concluded that it is in the best interests of our physician practices and will position us to successfully navigate the evolving health care landscape.
We will be communicating more details over the next several weeks as the transition process develops, but rest assured that the entire CMG team that has served you remains in place to support you as we always have.
