Hello from the CEO!
CMHA: A Community Resource

Our mission of developing partnerships continues as we transform our communities and research best practices. A team of Findlater Gardens and Winton Terrace residents along with Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority staff partnered together on ways to provide more resources that knock down barriers to self-sufficiency. The group dug in deep and began putting a plan together. A list of current social services was collected, residents then identified additional services they would like to see available onsite. As a community resource for residents we will use our partnerships with social service organizations and community partners to increase the quality of life, as defined by residents, and reduce barriers to self-sufficiency with a new CMHA initiative called ROC, Resource Opportunities Center.

ROC will use Outreach Coordinators, who are residents of CMHA, to communicate with residents, social service agencies and CMHA. The coordinators' goals are to refer residents to the participating service organizations and increase resident participation at the opportunity centers. The Outreach Coordinator positions will be paid positions, therefore providing an economic boost to families in the area. CMHA is committed to promoting self-sufficiency and providing neighborhood stability and ROC will do both. It is a model idea for decreasing truancy, increasing activities for seniors, reducing violence and more. If your company is interested in being one of our resources please email Ms. Kosik.

Kind Regards,

 AgencyspotlightAgency Spotlight:  Hiring Events
Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority holds Hiring Events bi-annually. The Hiring Events are part of Asset Management Services MOVE initiative. As a community resource for our neighbors, this event helps build self-sufficiency by connecting people to local companies in need of workers. The job fairs have been very successful for attendees. On many occasions, there have been multiple job offers provided to the job seekers. People who are looking to advance their education or skills also benefit from the Hiring Events. Service providers, educational facilities and employers are invited to attend, free of charge. The events are open to CMHA residents, Housing Choice Voucher participants, Section 3 residents and the general public.

The most recent Hiring Event was held May 10, 2019 with more than 20 vendors and 54 job seekers.

Information about future Hiring Events and classes can be found on the CMHA website or by contacting Mr. Luis Paris in the Asset Management Services Department at (513) 977-5852.
