CMHA Planning the Future
Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority is a mission based organization. We are currently defining our vision for the future and identifying the agency’s goals and objectives. That is taking place through strategic planning which typically represents mid- to long-term goals with a life span of three to five years. CMHA has reached out to all key stakeholder groups including staff to gather feedback on what the agency is doing right, what needs improvement and ideas on what should be focused on in the future. We are a housing authority and providing affordable housing options is the main objective but how we expand opportunities for families, businesses and the community at large are key to the Strategic Plan. Thank you to everyone who has responded to our requests throughout the strategic planning process. I look forward to sharing what’s next with you.
A new development and a bold transformation are currently underway. Logan Commons will be a centrally located building with affordable housing for seniors who want to age in place in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. It will include 42 one and two-bedroom apartments as well as a library, a fitness & exercise area and an outdoor space for resident gatherings. Construction is expected to last 14 months and total project funding is more than $14 million. Riverview San Marco is the latest development to convert through RAD, the Rental Assistance Demonstration. Renovation has started on the 131 apartments in the East Walnut Hills community. Residents and staff got a preview of the changes that have been completed on the 9th floor at Riverview. This bold transformation is estimated to cost over $38 million.
Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority will continue to secure partnerships that will allow us to preserve and develop quality housing options for families and neighborhoods of Hamilton County. This important work cannot be done without those partnerships including businesses that offer a wide variety of services. CMHA will continue to commit to boosting economic opportunities for Small, Minority and Section 3 businesses and their employees. The agency holds quarterly How to Do Business with CMHA events to offer businesses the occasion to register as a vendor, learn what solicitations are currently open, learn how to submit proposals, and network with our partners that support businesses of all types. The next event is March 22, 2024 and registration is open. Current opportunities are available on our website, click here for details and registration.
