Plans are underway for Manufacturing Month 2022
The state of Minnesota is beginning to plan October as Manufacturing Month again. Manufacturing is Central Minnesota’s second largest employing industry, providing nearly 40,000 jobs with an average annual wage of more than $60,500, well above the region’s overall average of $50,900. Manufacturing also accounted for 11.3% of statewide employment and provided 14.5% of the state’s gross domestic product in 2021, so it’s clear that the health of Minnesota’s economy is closely tied to the strength of the manufacturing industry.

CMMA awarded VEX MN Partner of the Year
VEX MN awarded CMMA the Parter of the Year award during the MN State VEX Robotics Championship in early March. VEX MN annually recognizes one of their partners at the State Championship in appreciation of their partnership.

Manufacturing employees may be eligible for Minnesota Frontline Worker Pay
Governor Tim Walz signed a bill passed by the Minnesota Legislature providing bonus pay for eligible COVID-19 frontline workers. Details of the program, including the application process and timeline, are still being finalized. Employers must provide notice to all eligible employees on how to apply for the pay within 15 days of the application period opening. Read more

The K12Navigator is a FREE tool that aggregates work-based learning resources to integrate into classrooms or workforce development programs. Educators can log on and search for a list of manufacturers in Central Minnesota that are willing to provide the following items:
- Classroom speakers
- Company tours
- Job shadowing
- Youth apprenticeship programs
- Work-based training
- Student mentors
- Student technical project support
- Material donations.
