CMP Adds EIC Rifle Match at Camp Perry in June
|
CAMP PERRY, Ohio - The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) will be hosting an EIC Service Rifle Match on Viale Range of Camp Perry on Saturday, June 17. The match will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will be fired upon CMP's mobile highpower electronic targets, recently featured at CMP Travel Games in Oklahoma and North Carolina. The EIC Match will be the first held on Viale Range using the electronic targets.
|
CAMP BUTNER, N.C. - The Civilian Marksmanship Program's (CMP) 2017 Eastern Games made a mark in the history of the organization as it featured its mobile electronic targets for the time in North Carolina - resulting in the most relays ever ran at Eastern Games. GSM Matches, which typically run four relays each day, saw days with a total of nine and 10 relays during its scheduled times, while the Vintage Sniper and other matches finished in record time. The targets eliminate the need for pit duty, allowing more time for the fun part of CMP Games events - the shooting.
|
ANNISTON, AL - The Civilian Marksmanship Program has declared a moratorium on strict enforcement of rules on design and construction of shooting jackets for 2017 until specific procedures and measurement tools are developed to determine the maximum amount of support coats may provide to competitors.

There was a great showing from all the Maryland shooters that attended this year's National Junior Olympic Championship held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

CMP Supports 4-H Shooting Sports. |
CMP Supports 4-H Shooting Sports
. The CMP annually supports 4-H Shooting Sports. Below are Thank Yous from State 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinators.
THANK YOU for your support of the
Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports Program! Your generous $200 donation provides support for our State 4-H Instructor Workshops. There were 176 volunteers certified in one of the six disciplines offered in 2016. The generous funding provided by CMP is utilized to help to purchase some of the needed training supplies for conducting these volunteer workshops held across the state. During 2016, 4-H Shooting Sports leaders volunteered more than 42,000 hours of their time in reaching over 44,400 youth across Nebraska in various shooting sports related programs and events.
Thanks again for your support of the youth shooting program in Nebraska.
Thank you for the $200 donation from CMP last year and previous year's too. We (
Michigan State University Extension) always try to use that donation on items that provide direct benefits to the youth and adult volunteers in the 4-H shooting sports program. This past year, we were able to purchase two boxes (400 pair) of ear plugs, 50 shooting glasses and 2,000 feet of caution tape. These items are distributed to volunteers and youth who need them at our workshops and state tournament. Additionally, we are constructing a three-tiered podium for use at our state tournament to recognize the top three finishers in each discipline at our state tournament. This makes the awards ceremony a little more "worthy" in recognizing the accomplishments of our youth. The CMP contribution makes these items more easily attainable with our limited funds. Thank you!
